Becoming A Conscious Leader

Conscious leadership isn´t anything complicated nor new. A conscious leader is an individual who possess awareness of himself and his role in being part of something bigger – humankind.

Conscious leaders are charismatic and very powerful, but their charisma and power is internally based and they use it only for a greater good – for causes bigger than themselves. They don´t need – or even desire – glory or to stand in the spotlight as they know that they are already – through their actions, not only words – standing in The Light.

Conscious leadership is the leadership of the Now and the Future, it´s what people are becoming increasingly drawn to.  Find out more about it in today´s video.

Grow And Develop Your Team

Great Leaders Go FirstThe very soul of leadership is a leader’s commitment to growing and developing people and this is accomplished when leaders – acting as servants – use their words and actions to convey faith, hope and love to their team members.

On the flip side, when leaders communicate fear, hostility and doubt to his team members the confidence, work morale and productivity of the team takes a nose dive. The Bible explains the power of communication this way, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue. And those who love it will eat its fruit” (Proverbs 18:21).

Leaders can use their words to build people up or tear them down. Many leaders are not even aware of which of these two effects their words have on their team members.

Mastering the art of communication as a leader, means getting your team to react to what you are saying in the way that you want. However, to succeed in this, you need to educate, motivate and inspire them. You need to educate your team members about why you are asking them to do something. People will follow direction, but they will only do that reluctantly if they don’t understand why they are being asked to do something.

Your words – and you actions – should motivate your team to want to react in the way you desire. To inspire means the ability to touch someone in a positive way with your words and actions – lead by example. This will encourage your team members to do something they might not have done otherwise.

Remember that successful leaders provide the foundation and the fuel that allow others to achieve success. So keep on educate – motivate – inspire!

Successful Communication: How To Master the Art of Listening

Are you a good listener? Have you ever experienced that you might have missed crucial information simply because you were not paying attention to what was being said? How do you feel when you are talking to someone and you notice that they do not listen attentively?

Successful communication consists of a yin and yang of listening and speaking. Most individuals are really good at one of them, either listening or speaking. By improving your skills in both listening and speaking you will significantly increase your capability to successfully communicate, especially in conflict situations.

“Speaking is silver, silence is gold.” – Swedish proverb

As beings, a fundamental need and desire of ours is being understood. However, in order for others to understand you, you first need to learn how to listen and understand them. In fact, when building relationships with others, the way that you listen – how – is just as important as what you have to say.

Listen to understand. If you want other people to understand you, you first need to truly listen to what they are communicating.

How you listen is key. To encourage communication and build meaningful connections, listen from other people’s perspectives. And remember, sometimes good listening is done with your eyes as well as your ears.

Learn to manage distractions. Articulate when you need to regain your focus (just say it!), jot down thoughts so that you won’t be distracted trying to remember them later, and if you are too exhausted to muster the energy to truly engage, postpone and reschedule.

Improve your listening. Give yourself credit for your current listening skills and be honest about the areas where you can improve – then set up a plan to work on those areas.

Good listening is definitely a win-win. Not only does good listening make others feel heard and understood, but it also gives you a deeper connection with people.

The Executive Program: Leading the Enterprise

It’s different at the top. We know.

Leading the Enterprise is a powerful — and humbling — experience. Top leaders play an enormous role in the success of organizations. And, they need to excel in new ways.

The challenges of leading at the top are far-reaching, complex and essential to get right. Based on extensive research, leaders at the top take on:
Business operations – the heart of all other challenges.
Strategic issues – setting and realizing vision, direction and goals.
Managing change – both in the day-to-day and in the long-term.
Boundary spanning – leading across levels, silos, cultures, backgrounds and interests.
Talent management – ensuring the current and future talent pipeline.
Individual impact – understanding and adjusting leadership style in effective ways.

“We understand – and know -that leading the enterprise gives you a different view and different responsibilities than any other role.”

Regardless of industry and context, leadership at the top requires different perspectives and skills. This program allows top executives to reflect on their leadership style, dissect their effectiveness and examine how to proceed. The Executive Program: Leading The Enterprise is a once-in-a-career opportunity to maximize personal leadership power to accelerate organizational commitment, alignment and results.

Delivered by highly qualified coaches, the Leading the Enterprise experience is dedicated to helping executives in the C-suite or on the senior executive team address the unique challenges experienced by those at the top of the organization. They include very senior-level executives: CEOs, COOs, CFOs, CIOs, chairmen, board members, officers and ascending senior executives.

*To ensure participants have the optimum background to benefit from the program, pre-assessment and qualification are required for participation.

Led by a senior-level coaching team, typically composed of a male and female coach, the Leading the Enterprise retreat is a safe – but challenging – environment for learning, practice, reflection and goal setting.
